Nigel Page's Bikes Stolen - Help!

Whilst away at Eurobike, Nigel's house was broken into while his mum was asleep (she has Alzheimers). They then stole his van keys, then stole his van and all of his bikes from the garage.

Guys,

Please keep em peeled, on e-Bay, the streets and tracks not just around the North West part of England but across the U.K and maybe even abroad! If you come across anything please contact the Police and Nigel Page.

The missing van

There are some pretty one off and rare bikes there so hopefully the more people know the more chance I have of getting them back.

Here is a list of the bikes I sent to the police and also my Van incase anyone sees that?

Bike 1 - Full Suspension Mountain bike. Intense 6.6 Slope Style. Custom Build.

Sheesh and I whined about my cheap azz bike getting jacked, nickels and dimes compared to this news...I feel for you Nigel and do hope you get your goods back in the condition they left in. On that can we all please start pushing for a way to protect our bikes and know where they are at the click of a mouse or whatever...bike theft is BS! C'mon industries, the required technology has been here for a long time now! Time to get it appropriately packaged and to the cycling markets already!

There was 20 bikes stolen in 1 week at my uni, including mine, and the police didnt even put out a patrol after the first one was reported. needless to say nothing was done.
Nigel paige is a ledgend. I really hope you get your bikes back!

Thanks for your comments. Not heard anything yet about the Van or bikes? So if anyone hears or seeing anything I would appreciate you letting me know. Yeah wish I could find the t--t's that nicked them all when my mum was there. Thanks for your mint advice zackmorris-1975 the bikes were not covered on my house insurance. I would have to be a millionaire to add those onto my contents insurance. But next time I am riding past a lake I will think about your advice? No wonder its impossible to insure bikes with people doing what you suggest!!!

IÂ´ll keep my eyes open, though I doubt that theyÂ´re going to ride around on them just like that. Same goes for the Van.
ItÂ´s been the same story with Multivan-Merida (Worldcup XC Team) - they had their brandnew all-carbon fullies stolen at the first WC in Belgium this year. Giant, the swiss national team and some others had their bikes stolen, too. Somebody even tried to open a Merida-Van in Madrid with a huge can-opener. Crazy shit.

unfortunatly theive's over here are not that stupid and once they realise someone is onto them or they find out how rare a bike/part is they tend to just burn it (the van will either be abonanded, burnt or stipped and sold in parts) Frown

I made a claim on a bike that got ripped off insurance paid for it. Rates don't go up on home insurance after claims are made for stolen items. Even if they do home owner insurance is cheap its not like car insurance... If your car is stolen the rates dont go up much either, its not like crashing your car and making a claim DUDE. "almostwise" you don't insure your bike its covered under home owners insurance. I agree I feel for Nigel but I'm just saying theres really no point in trying to find the dude just go through insurance. benjiscott82 I'm probably not the first to say this but your a "bloody c*nt" as you British say.

You've never tried to get insurance on a bike over here then I guess...it's ridiculously expensive. And yeah, Nige probably will get great discount on replacement bikes, and a new van, but that's not the point really is it.
