Amateur racers get the chance to race through the city of Swansea in Wales on Sunday the 4th of December 2011 at the Red Bull Downforce in front of thousands of spectators. Christmas shopping will be in full swing as shoppers stop by to catch the chosen few descending through the streets of Swansea.
The course will see riders reaching speeds of up to 40mph taking on narrow flights of steps, high speed turns and super steep cobbled roads.
32 riders will battle it out over 2 runs to set their fastest time. The course will start at Nicander Parade and will finish on The Kingsway in Swansea’s City Centre, will fully test the riders to their limits through the highly technical urban course. Red Bull athlete Gee Atherton will be there to meet riders and fans and even test out the course himself.

Applications are now open and will close on the 28th of November sharp. Spectators are welcome to watch the action for free from 12pm, with the final starting at 3pm and prize giving at 3:30pm. The best viewing spots will be from the start line on Nicander Parade and the finish line on The Kingsway, at the end of Princess Way.
